Charles S. “Choppy” Johnson, 85, of New Harmony died Monday, Feb. 20, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin P. and Geraldine (Spangenberg) Johnson; brother William Johnson; and an infant brother.
Surviving Choppy are his loving wife of 60 years, Vera Almon Johnson; two sons, Jim Johnson of DeSoto, Texas; Rick Johnson (Debra) of New Harmony, and one daughter, Judy Alsop (Jim) of New Harmony; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is Saturday, Feb. 25, 10 a.m., at Johnson United Methodist Church in New Harmony. Internment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24 at Werry Funeral Home, New Harmony Chapel or Saturday, Feb. 25 from 9-10 a.m. at Johnson United Methodist Church.
