Ron Jochum, Vectren’s long-time vice president of power supply, recently announced he will retire April 1, 2011, after nearly 18 years of service with the company. Today, Wayne Games, the company’s current director of its A.B. Brown generation plant in Posey County, Ind., was named Jochum’s successor.
“Ron has been instrumental in managing Vectren’s electric generation fleet and spearheaded our efforts to aggressively move forward with emissions control investments to ensure cleaner air for southwestern Indiana,” said Carl Chapman, Vectren president and CEO.
“Given his 41-year career in the energy industry, we will miss his unparalleled leadership and expertise in electric generation, and we wish him well in a much-deserved retirement.”
After spending nine years with another Midwestern energy utility, Games joined Vectren in 2000. Since 2003, he has been directing operations, maintenance and budget management for the A.B. Brown power plant, including managing a workforce of more than 100 employees. Prior to his current role, he served as a regional manager for Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio before moving to Evansville.
“Wayne, who brings 20 years of industry knowledge to his new role, has proven himself an effective leader during his tenure with our company,” said Chapman.
“His prior work experience, which includes managing Vectren’s largest power plant for the past eight years, and his extended skill set make him a perfect fit for this position.”
Games, a Geneva, Ohio native, received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio Northern University and a master’s in management from the McGregor School at Antioch University.
