Junior legion team has 7 wins

Some baseball fans may have been upset to hear that Mount Vernon would not be fielding a Senior American Legion team this summer.
After the thrilling sectional run, fans would have loved to see the boys continue to play. But a number of the players are still playing on the junior team.
And the team is having quite a successful season so far.
Mount Vernon, as of last Wednesday, are 7-1.
Bryce Newman is 2-0 on the season and the team is led by hitters River Vanzant, Aaron Roberts and Drake McNamara. Coaching the team this summer are Dan McNamara and Gary Redman.
The remainder of the team's schedule is tonight at home against Funkhouser, Thursday night at home against Newburgh, Wed. June 29 at Pate, Tues. July 5 at home against Pate, and Wed. July 6 at Funkhouser.
