Mount Vernon swimmers continue action during summer

The Mount Vernon Swim Team will be very familiar with Indianapolis this summer, with four of seven meets there.
Next weekend the team will travel to IUPUI for the SSC Summer Sizzler Meet. The following weekend is the conference meet with the location yet to be determined.
On the weekend of July 22, the Indiana state senior meet will be held at IUPUI, with the state age group meet held there the following weekend. On the week of Aug. 2, the USA Swimming Senior National Championships will be held in Palo Alto, Calif., followed by the Junior National Championships the next week. The weekend of Aug. 5, the Central Zone Meet will be held in Indianapolis, with the 14 and under meet at IUPUI and the Senior Meet at Franklin Central.
Recently, the team competed in the Jasper and Cincinnati meets.
At the Jasper meet, high point winners were for eight and under Kelly Blair with 157 points, nine and 10 aged girls Adele Schnautz with 217 points, 11 and 12 aged girls Elinor Schnautz with 194 points, and open boys Jacob Poole with 193 points. Most improved were Poole, Blair, and Elinor Schnautz.
At the Cincinnati meet, high point winners were for eight and under girls Jamie Glover with 90 points, 11 and 12 girls Claudia Crawford with 126 points, and 13 and 14 girls Clara Baggett with 109 points. Most improved were Baggett, Meredith Crawford and Glover.
Baggett also set a new MTV record in the 50-yard freestyle at the Cincinnati meet.
