Petty graduates basic military training

Air Force Airman 1st Class Kevin B. Petty graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Petty earned distinction as an honor graduate. He is the son of Kevin Petty of Mount Vernon. The airman graduated from a home school program in 2004, and received a master’s degree in 2010 from Colorado Tech University.
