School collects 2,000 books

For the first time, the Mount Vernon Student Honor Council partnered with teachers, staff and other students to collect books for the Indiana State Teacher’s Association-Lugar book drive.
Sen. Richard Lugar has hosted a book drive for years and has recently partnered with ISTA.
Last year, 60,000 books were collected in Indiana by schools in Indiana.
This year, Mount Vernon schools collected nearly 2,000 books to take to Lugar’s office in Evansville.
