The Mount Vernon Swim Team participated in the Indiana Senior State Championships this past weekend.
The high finishers for Mount Vernon were Jake Poole in 32nd and Nick Loehr in 47th in the boys 1500-meter freestyle, Clara Baggett in fifth in the girls 50-meter freestyle, Kelsey Turner, Claudia Crawford, Erika McCormick and Clara Baggett in 26th in the girls 800-meter freestyle relay, Reid Mobley, Wade Mobley, Jake Poole and Nick Loehr in 23rd in the boys 800-meter freestyle relay, Clara Baggett in ninth in the girls 100-meter freestyle, Erika McCormick in 16th in the girls 100-meter breaststroke, Claudia Crawford, Erika McCormick, Clara Baggett and Kelsey Turner in 21st in the girls 400-meter medley relay, Reid Mobley, Wade Mobley, Jake Poole and Nick Loehr in the boys 400-meter medley relay, Erika McCormick in 17th in the girls 200-meter breaststroke, Claudia Crawford, Erika McCormick, Kelsey Turner and Clara Baggett in 16th in the girls 400-meter freestyle relay, Reid Mobley, Wade Mobley, Jake Poole and Nick Loehr in 30th in the boys 400-meter freestyle relay, and Nick Loehr in 47th in the boys 800-meter freestyle.
Mount Vernon finished 24th out of 47 teams, which included collegiate teams. Mount Vernon scored 61 points.
This weekend the team will compete in the Indiana State Age Group Meet in Indianapolis.
