  • Anniversary - Mayville

    Jim and Carolyn Mayville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, April 3 with an open house hosted by their family at Church of God Mission, West Fifth St., Mount Vernon, from 1-3 p.m.
    Family and friends are invited to attend.
    Jim and Carolyn were married April 5, 1961.

  • Anniversary - Kessler

    Malcolm “Mac” and Helen (Guth) Kessler were joined in marriage on Feb. 16, 1946 in Henderson, Ky., with attendants Ed and Valerie Strupp (sister of the bride).
    Mac and Helen are the parents of Donna (David L.) Allyn, Rick (Marcia) Kessler, and Rhonda (Ronald) Sammet, all of Mount Vernon, and Mark (Nona) Kessler of Stewartsville.
    They have nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
    A private family gathering is planned to celebrate the day.

  • Anniversary - Roger and Connie Thompson

    Roger and Connie Thompson will celebrate their 40th anniversary on Sunday, Jan. 23 with an open house at Point Township Church Family Life Center from 12:30-4 p.m. There will be cake and punch served following lunch.
    The couple were joined in marriage on Jan. 29, 1971.
    They are the parents of Bryan and wife Ashley; Sam and wife Anna, and Tonya and husband Robbie. Roger and Connie have eight grandchildren.
    All family and friends are invited to attend.
     

  • Anniversary - Embrey

    Mr. and Mrs. Bob Embrey of Kuttawa, Ky., formerly of Posey County, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children.
    The reception will be held July 17, 2-5 p.m. at the Community Life Center at Kuttawa Methodist Church. All family and friends are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts.
    They were married July 21, 1961 at the Johnson United Methodist Church in New Harmony.

  • Anniversary - Martin

    Charles and Carol Martin of Mount Vernon will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Atlantic City. Charles and the former Carol Christmas were married July 22, 1961 at Old North Methodist Church in Evansville.
    They are the parents of Clay Martin of Bloomington, Ill. and Cristi Sitzman of Mount Vernon. They have three grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
    Charles and Carol retired from the Metropolitan School District of Mount Vernon in 1995. Charles was a teacher and Carol was a school nurse.

  • Anniversary - Rutledge

    Bill and Sue Rutledge of Mount Vernon were surprised by their four children, Tony and Kris, and Troy of Mount Vernon, Suzanne and Dwayne of Evansville, and Tracy and Veronica of La Quinta, Calif., with a surprise 50th Anniversary celebration. It was a beautiful party with lots of family and friends.
    Bill and Sue were married June 17, 1961 in Junction City, Ill.
    The couple has 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

  • Anniversary - Handel

    Phil and Dottie (Shoemaker) Handel were married on Oct. 6, 1961 at St. Johns United Methodist Church in Caborn, Ind.
    They are planning to celebrate their anniversary with their family: Angela and Dan McNamara, Jenny and Todd Krapf, and five grandchildren, Drake and Drew McNamara, Alex, Corrin and Trevor Krapf.

  • Anniversary - Rick & Kim Brooks

    Rick and Kim Brooks celebrated their 25th anniversary with family and friends at Salem United Church of Christ Heusler where they were married on July 26, 1986.
    Rick and the former Kim Grebe are the parents of Blake, a senior, and Dylan, a sophomore at Reitz High School.
    Rick is employed as a lead programmer specialist at Springleaf Financial Services. Kim is a dental hygienist at the office of Dr. Allan Knapp.

  • Anniversary - Marshall

    Harold and Donna (Martin) Marshall are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple was married Nov. 11, 1961 at the First Baptist Church in Old Eddyville, Ky., by the Rev. Brother R.G. Shelton.
    They will celebrate this special day with their family including their oldest son Kevin, daughter-in-law Michelle, grandsons Brock and Blake, and their youngest son Kerry, daughter-in-law Lisa, granddaughter Shelby, grandson Zack, and great-grandson Kaden.

  • Anniversary - Fleming

    Mr. and Mrs. Gene Fleming will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Jan. 21, 2011. They are celebrating the occasion with family and friends.
    The couple has three children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
