    Lora Lee Mangold, 83

    Lora Lee (Koonce) Mangold, 83, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012, (which was her mother's birthday) at Deaconess Hospital.
    Lora Lee was born in Evansville, Indiana on September 30, 1928 to Arthur Lee and Susie (Pate) Koonce.  She worked at Sam's Club as a "Demo-Lady" for 22 years and had worked at Royal Supermarket for 17 years.  Lora Lee was a member of Old North Methodist Church.  She enjoyed traveling with her family and had visited all fifty states as well as Canada.

  • Effie Coley

    Effie Marie Coley died Sunday, April 22, 2012, following an extended illness.
    Effie was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Sudie Bulla; husband, Albert Carr in 1969; husband Williard Coley in 1985; four brothers and three sisters; and a daughter, Vicky Moore in 2010.
    Surviving are children Betty McGarvey, Mike Carr, and Randy Carr; stepdaughters Carolyn Felli and Marilyn Schnarr; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.

  • Bessie Wilhite, 84


    Bessie Louise (Taylor) Wilhite, 84, of Evansville, died Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Deaconess Hospital. She was born Dec. 19, 1927, in Linton, Ky.
    She was a member of Bethel Pentecostal Church.
    Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Wilhite; daughter, Rose Marie Vance; parents, Joe Bob and Lenora (Brandon) Taylor; and brothers, Johnnie and Leroy Taylor.
    She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Jung; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

  • John Robert Wolfe, 81

    John Robert Wolfe, age 81 of Mount Vernon, died Monday evening April 9, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital. He was born January 25, 1931, the son of Peter Leslie and Carrie (Russell) Wolfe in Harmony Township.  He married Gladys Grabert on March 13, 1954 at Trinity United Church of Christ in Mt. Vernon.

    Donald Jewell Martin, 77, of New Harmony, died Thursday April 5, 2012 at New Harmonie Healthcare. He was born Aug. 6, 1934 in Carmi, Ill., the son of Henderson and Dora (Henson) Martin.
    Don was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 42 years, Barbara (Gish) Martin; infant son Douglas J. Martin; brothers, Guthrie and Ralph Martin; and sisters, Hazel Wilson and Oneida Bivin.
    Don is survived by his son Donnie Martin Jr. of Mount Vernon; and three grandchildren, all of Mount Vernon.

  • Dorothy Lee Bishop, 88

    Dorothy Lee Bishop, 88, died at Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Deaconess Hospice Care. She was born on May 18, 1923 in Gentryville, Ind., the daughter of Henry and Gertrude (Boyd) Owens.
    She married William A. Morris and he preceded her in death in 1989.  She then married Raymond Bishop and he preceded her in death in 2000.

    Emily Ruth (Nettleton) White, 73, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at her home in Cynthiana.
    She was born Sept. 13, 1938 to Shirley and Naomi (Puntney) Nettleton in Armstrong, Iowa.
    Emily is survived by her three sons, Robert “Steve” and Jesse Seibert of Olney, Ill. and Jerry Seibert of Newton, Ill.; one daughter, Ruth Titzer of Cynthiana; one brother, Warren Nettleton of Cynthiana; eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Isaac, Alfred and Paul Nettleton; and three great-grandchildren.

    Mary Elizabeth Swain, 72, of Mount Vernon, died Wednesday evening, April 4, 2012 at her home. She was born May 17, 1939 in White County, Ill., the daughter of Floyd and Emogene (Tolley) Palmer.
    Ms. Swain is survived by four sons, Tim Koontz, Kenny Koontz and Gary Swain, all of Mount Vernon, and Donald Koontz of Wadesville; two daughters, Debbie King and Angie Wyant , both of Mount Vernon; 19 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Alberta Alldredge of Mount Vernon.
