The Board of Public Works approved $41,939 to paint and renovate the missionary at City Hall.
“This is work that needs to be done badly,” said Mayor Bill Curtis. “Plaster is starting to disintegrate around many windows, and the longer we wait, the more it’s going to cost.”
Curtis said there is about $41,000 in budget line items that cover repairs and painting. However, most of the funds will come from the Economic Development Income Tax (EDIT) budget, and if needed, the Public Works budget.
