Chris Rock Isn’t ‘Concerned’ With Jada Pinkett Smith’s Plea for Reconciliation With Will Smith, Source Says

The conversation about Will Smith’s infamous slap is back in the headlines after Jada Pinkett Smith addressed the incident on a new episode of Red Table Talk. It’s been more than two months since the 2022 Oscars, and the conversation about Will Smith’s infamous slap is back in the headlines after Jada Pinkett Smith addressed the incident on a new episode of Red Table Talk. Chris Rock, on the other hand, seemed to be unconcerned about Jada’s recent comments.

According to an ET insider, Chris is ignoring Jada’s “pleading” for Will and Chris to reconnect.

“He’s not worried about the Smiths right now,” a source says. “He’s on the road and working on a comedy special.”

Chris is the most honest person ever, according to the source; nothing he does is calculated or phony, and he isn’t caught up in the Hollywood environment; instead, he is focused on himself.

Jada broke her silence on the Oscars incident, in which her husband punched Chris Rock in the face after he made a joke about Jada’s shaved head during the live telecast of the awards presentation, during the most recent episode of Red Table Talk.

“Now, as for Oscar night,” she said, “my deepest wish is that these two brilliant, talented guys will have the opportunity to heal, speak things out, and reconcile.” “Given the current situation of the world, we require both. And now, more than ever, we all need one other. Until then, Will and I will keep doing what we’ve been doing for the past 28 years: figuring out this thing called life together.”

Will openly apologized to Chris and resigned from the Academy in the weeks following the event.

Will will be barred from attending any Academy events for a decade, in person or online, according to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Jada previously recognized the incident in a more subdued and brief manner, writing on Instagram, “This is a season for healing, and I’m here for it.” Jada “was delighted Will stood up for her,” according to an ET insider, and she “was stung by Chris’ statement.”

Chris has yet to publicly address the event, despite declining to seek charges that night. During various stops on his stand-up tour, he has made casual jokes about the slap.
