Charles R. Curtis, 90, of Doyline, LA. died at Promise Hospital of Bossier City, Dec. 5, 2008, following a lengthy illness. Curtis was born in Mount Vernon on Jan. 20, 1918. After entering the United States Air Force, he rose to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer W-4, serving in WWII in Europe and in the Vietnam War. After he retired, he moved to Doyline, La. where he lived until his death. He was a mason for 50 years. He was a champion for disadvantaged young people and a “pushover” for all animals, especially dogs and cats.
