Trinity United
Church of Christ

Trinity UCC will offer mid-day services on Wednesdays in Lent for the second year.  Through April 13, Wednesday services at 12:15 and 6:45 p.m. will include interviews with a professor who maintains a menagerie of animals with connections to Jesus’ life. The evening services, which include choral music, will be preceded by a supper of soup, sandwiches, and/or salads. The food will be served in the Fellowship Hall from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. for a free-will offering. For more information, call 838-3805.

First Presbyterian Church
First Presbyterian Church in Mount Vernon will be offering Lenten soup suppers and studies each Wednesday during Lent, 5:30-6:45 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. This year, we will be studying the influences Old Testament feasts and holy days have on Christian holy days. On the last Wednesday before Easter, there will be a Passover meal. St. Philip Church
St. Philip Catholic Church will have a fish fry Friday, April 15, 5-7:30 p.m. in the church parish center. St. Philip Catholic Church is located at 3500 St. Phillips Road. For more information, call 985-2775.

Annual Mission Fundraiser
The Holy Smokers annual mission fundraiser will be held Saturday, April 16 at Harvestime Temple, 101 Roosevelt Drive, Mount Vernon. A slab of ribs is $20; loin, $25. Pick up at the church will be from 1-3 p.m.


Bridges, a gospel group that performs a variety of gospel music including familiar hymns and original material, will perform Sunday, April 17, 10 a.m. at Mount Pleasant General Baptist Church located at 3801 Blackford Road. The Evansville based gospel band consists of Bruce and Sheila Bridges, and Rob and Christa Klauss.
St. Stephen’s
Episcopal Church
St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church will have its Holy Week services including: Thursday, April 21, 7 p.m., Foot Washing Service with Holy Eucharist; Friday, April 22, 7 p.m., Good Friday Service with Holy Eucharist; Sunday, April 24, 10 a.m., Easter Sunday Service with Holy Eucharist.
St. Stephen’s is also welcoming new priest Rev. Kathryn Costas.

Jane Owen Remembrance
On Monday, April 18 at 7 p.m., the public is invited to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church at Main and Granary streets in New Harmony, to commemorate what would have been Jane Blaffer Owen’s 96th birthday. The service is intended to be a time of celebrating and honoring Owen’s life among us, remembering her transforming spirit, and encouraging us with renewed energy to move forward as we continue to live out her vision in the community she so dearly loved. All are welcome to attend.
Community Good Friday Service
In observance of Good Friday, the Mount Vernon Ministerial Association invites you to a Good Friday service on April 22.
The service will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church located at 602 Mulberry Street in Mount Vernon. Worship will begin at 12:05 p.m. and last about 50 minutes. Frank Liberti will be leading a community choir at the service. Those who wish to share their musical talents and participate in the choir, contact Frank at 838-5343 or Rev. First Baptist Church
First Baptist Church invites you to our annual Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 23 at 10 a.m. All children age 12 and younger are welcome, along with their families.
