Lady Wildcats fall short of goal

What began as a season full of possibilities ended short on Wednesday, as the Mount Vernon Softball team was defeated in the second round of the Sectional.

Mount Vernon opened the Sectional with a huge 18-1 win over Bosse, but ran out of steam in the second round, with a 3-2 loss to Heritage Hills.


Mount Vernon defeated Bosse 18-1 in the first round of the Sectional at Boonville.

Sadie Hobbs, Brooklyn Gibbs, and Haylee Ford each had two hits.

Haley Goad had three hits with a single, double, and a home run. Ellen Denning collected four hits.
