7th & 8th Grade Dance
Mount Vernon Junior High’s fall dance for 7th and 8th graders will be Friday, Sept. 16, from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. To qualify for the dance, the student cannot have received an internal (AEP) or external suspension.  Students must enter the building no later than 6:45 p.m. If for some reason, the student cannot make it until after 6:45 p.m., the parent or guardian must speak with one of the administrators upon bringing the student to the dance.
The dance is over promptly at 9:30 p.m., and no student will be allowed to leave prior to this time unless the parent or guardian comes in to pick up the student. Mount Vernon Junior High dances are limited only to current Mount Vernon Junior High students. This dance is being sponsored by the Booster Club.

Homework Hotline
Sometimes, after a long day at school learning tough subjects, students get home and, unexpectedly, the homework doesn’t make sense. But, fortunately, help is available. In the evenings, Indiana students in grades 6-12 can turn to Rose-Hulman’s Homework Hotline for free math and science homework help. The Hotline is a toll-free telephone tutoring service that helps students better understand math and science concepts and improve their problem-solving skills.  Tutors have been trained to tutor middle school students, and they have access to our math and science textbooks. Students may call toll free at 1-877-ASK-ROSE from 6-9 p.m., Sunday through Thursday. Students may also ask questions online at http://www.AskRose.org.
