Put our passions to use for the benefit of children

-A A +A
By Jim Redwine

Passion can be a force for good. Divorced parents who feel deeply about their children can harness this passion for the benefit of the children and, per force, themselves. What is most required is a recognition that one’s decisions about his or her children may be skewed by this passionate attachment.

If we acknowledge that our own decisions may be irrational due to deep emotions, we can more successfully deal with like actions and reactions from other people. For example, I am well aware that my loyalty to the Indiana Hoosiers is based on hope, not history.
