The silo at the riverfront is gaining attention as spectators watch the demolition of the structure.
Crews from Klenck Co. began swinging the 3-ton wrecking ball Friday, July 1, starting with the highest point of the structure.
According to Mayor John Tucker, crews started work Friday to get as much done as they could, then resumed Tuesday, July 6 to demolish the remaining pieces of the silo.
Once the silo is down, the company will begin processing the concrete and rebar, and will begin cleanup.
