Two Posey County school boost ISTEP scores

Mount Vernon's average passing rate falls below average

By Amy Moore

The Indiana Department of Education recently released the results of the fall 2008 ISTEP+ scores for schools across the state. And while nearly every grade showed a decrease in the number of students passing the ISTEP statewide, two of Posey County’s three high schools, New Harmony and North Posey, showed increases in the average number of students passing the standardized test.

The Mount Vernon school district, as a whole, did not meet the state average for the fall ISTEP.
