Wildcats drop a pair of tight road games

After wrapping up the Carmi Tournament last week without a win, the Mount Vernon Boys Basketball team came back to Indiana action this week, but saw the same results.

On Friday, The Wildcats went on the road to Gibson Southern and came up short 59 to 55. The Wildcats opened up to a 15 to 11 lead in the first quarter but only scored seven points in the second and fell behind 32 to 23 they cut into the lead in the second half but came up short. The Wildcats were lead in scoring by Sam Thomas with 26, Ben Varner with nine, Wade Dixon with eight, Braden Henning with three and Leo Hostetter with two.

The Cats followed that up with another road loss the following night.

The Wildcats went on the road to Vincennes Lincoln and played a competitive first half but gave up 22 points in the third quarter which extended the lead by 21 points. Final Score 77 to 50.
