Damian Lewis, Jane Turton, Bonnie Tyler Among Queen’s Jubilee Birthday Honours Recipients

The Queen’s Birthday Honours List for 2022 has been revealed, just in time for the Jubilee celebrations in the UK. Actor Damian Lewis, author Salman Rushdie, All3Media CEO Jane Turton, Welsh-born singer Bonnie Tyler, and designer Stella McCartney are among those who have received the award.

The awards, which range from knighthoods to MBEs, honor extraordinary contributions in a variety of fields, with a focus on public service, environmental and sustainability, and youth participation.

Rushdie, the author of Satanic Verses, will be awarded a Companion of Honor for his contributions to literature, one of just 65 at any given moment. In 2007, he received a knighthood.

For achievements in literature and charity, crime novelist Ian Rankin has been knighted. Rankin gave his archive to the National Library of Scotland in 2019. He is the author of the Rebus and Malcolm Fox novels.

Lewis, who starred in the HBO series Billions, has been awarded the CBE for his contributions to theatre and philanthropy. Lewis and his late wife Helen McCrory created Feed NHS, a drive to raise £1 million for food for NHS personnel, during the Covid lockdown.

Turton, the CEO of All3Media, has been awarded the OBE. The executive has held her position since 2015 and is well-known in the UK manufacturing industry.
