The premiere date for Season 2 of Daybreak
We’re going to get right to the point. ‘Daybreak’ was cancelled by Netflix in December 2019, after the first season.
In a tweet following the show’s cancellation, the show’s co-creator, Aron Coleite, confirmed the news.
“Daybreak will not be returning for a second season,” we learned last week. While we regret not being able to share this with you sooner, we’re grateful for the time spent with you during the last few live-tweet sessions.
This show and the experience of producing it would not have been possible without you, so thank you for taking what we said and running with it in your own unique way.
Nothing could have broken their hearts more than the knowledge that they wouldn’t be able to share more of this adventure with you. However, we’re grateful to have made it this far.

Who’s in the Daybreak Cast?
‘Daybreak’ has a plethora of well-known actors in its cast.
Matthew Broderick (‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’) portrays Glendale High School Principal Michael Burr in the film. Krysta Rodriguez portrays a biology teacher in the film.. Joseph Wheeler, a 17-year-old outcast at his high school, is played by Colin Ford (Supernatural).
As Glendale High’s Sam Dean, Sophie Simnett embodies the school’s most popular girl. Wesley Fists, a friendly samurai played by Austin Crute, is the star of the film. She is Angelica Green, a talented student with a brilliant mind, and Alyvia Alyn Lind is her name. Codenamed Turbo Bro Jock, Cody Kearsley is the jocks’ Immortan Joe-esque leader. In the role of Mona Lisa, Jeanté Godlock portrays Turbo’s right-hand woman, Eli Cardashyan is played by Gregory Kasyan in the main cast.
Daybreak Season 2 plot
Teenagers successfully launched a nuke into space at the end of Daybreak season 1. Meanwhile, Principal Burr aka Triumph, the self-proclaimed “Armageddon Jesus,” is defeated in a comical moment of defeat. The lessons Sam takes away from her adventures go unnoticed by Josh, who is enamored with Sam and assumes that their survival will inevitably lead to romance. The final twist in Daybreak season 1 shows Sam rejecting Josh and essentially taking the throne like a post-apocalyptic Daenerys Targaryen.
On Daybreak, Josh was ready for love, but Sam was ready to take the reins. “All is fair in love and war” will certainly be a theme in the second season of Daybreak. There appears to be a new focus on power dynamics between various factions in the show now. In order to impress Sam, Josh will most likely have to form questionable alliances in order to gain some degree of control. Expect a new villain to emerge in season 2 of Daybreak, which will be used to bring Sam and Josh closer together.

Netflix has not renewed Daybreak. The first season of the show will be the last.
