Derek Hough and dancer Hayley Erbert are engaged! Hough shared the good news on Instagram on Thursday.
Hough posted a photo of the two cuddlings, her legs wrapped over his. The word “engaged” appears on the post. The pair is in Monaco on vacation.
He captioned the breathtaking image, “It’s simply the beginning…the beginning of forever.”
Julianne Hough, his younger sister, posted an Instagram Story in response to the wonderful news.
“Congratulations to this beautiful couple!” she exclaimed. “I’m ecstatic for you two and the wonderful life you’ve already begun. This is only the beginning.”
Hough, 37, has been seeing Erbert, 27, since 2015. Hough gushed about Erbert to ET in 2018 and that he wasn’t in any haste to marry him.
He described Erbert as “very grounded.” “She’s very, really grounded — just really down to earth, and she just has a nice heart and a beautiful soul,” says the author.
“Do I feel compelled to marry? No, “He also offered his thoughts. “Right now, I’m constructing a home. It feels like I’ve been working on it for the past 25 years. It’s taken a long time, so I’m looking at things in stages, and that’ll be the next stage for me. As a result, I’ll be able to settle down, physically grounded, and physically settled. After that, who knows where life will take us.”

ET also chatted with Hough about his quarantine with Erbert, and he revealed that their bond has only grown stronger.
He declared her to be “totally” his life’s love.
“By the way, I don’t think any couple has ever spent that much time with each other on a regular basis,” he remarked. “As a result, the fact that it has strengthened our friendship is fantastic. We launched a YouTube channel together, we cook together, we do arts and crafts together, and it’s always a good sign when you’re happy to lay on the couch with someone and fall asleep with four animals next to you and think, ‘This is great, I like this.'”
