Family Reunion season 3 Renewed: Working on Final Season By Netflix

Family Reunion season 3 Renewed

The multi-camera comedy series Family Reunion, starring Loretta Devine and Tia Mowry-Hardrict, has been renewed for a final 10-episode third season on Netflix.

Adrienne Carter and Arthur Harris, who wrote the series, have been promoted to executive producers and showrunners for the final season. Meg DeLoatch, the series’ creator, will continue to executive produce once they succeed in the showrunner job. Season 3 will also feature Robert Prinz as an executive producer.

Returning cast members include Devine, Mowry-Hardrict, Anthony Alabi, Talia Jackson, Isaiah Russell-Bailey, Cameron J. Wright, and Jordyn Raya James. Richard Roundtree will continue to appear in future episodes.

The first two seasons of Family Reunion had 20 and 15 episodes, respectively, that were split into two sections. (There was also a holiday special episode in Season 1.)

Family Reunion is a rare Netflix multi-camera comedy that has lasted more than one season. Beyond the early success with Fuller House and The Ranch, it has been one of the most successful titles in the category, which has been challenging for the streamer.

“I’m ecstatic that Family Reunion will be back for a third season,” DeLoatch stated. “I will be eternally grateful to Netflix for giving me the opportunity to finally tell my storey and for providing me with a platform to share the McKellan family’s wonderful, loving, and joyful lives with the rest of the world.”

Family Reunion, a two-time NAACP Image Award winner, follows the McKellans as they relocate from Seattle to Georgia to be closer to extended family. The change, however, is akin to being a catfish out of water. The everyday ups and downs of Family Reunion are real, memorable, toe tapping, heart stopping, laugh out loud authentic experiences, from three-hour church services and big humidity hair to M’Dear’s home cooking and family bonding.

The third and last season of Family Reunion has begun principal photography! This is fantastic news for Family Reunion lovers since it means we’re one step closer to seeing season 3 on Netflix.

The McKellan family is followed as they travel in Family Reunion.

To be closer to family, I moved from Seattle, Washington to Columbus, Georgia.

The original series starred Tia Mowry, Anthony Alabi, Talia Jackson, Isaiah Russell-Bailey, Cameron J. Wright, Jordyn Raya James, and Loretta Devine.

When the beloved family sitcom first aired on Netflix in July 2019, no one could have imagined where it would end up. People aren’t watching sitcoms anymore, as much as we hate to tell it. It’s rare to see a successful sitcom make it to a third season, so it’s a treat to see Family Reunion make it this far.

Unfortunately, the show’s third season will be its final season. However, I’m confident that the writers have something planned to end the show on a good note. It’ll undoubtedly be a memorable finish to the series. Here’s everything we know about the third season of Family Reunion’s production timeline.

Grace and Frankie season 7 release date rumors: Expected to arrive in April 2022

The third season of Family Reunion is currently in production

On Feb. 28, Anthony Alabi, who plays Moz McKellan on the family sitcom, shared a video on Instagram of himself heading to set for the third season’s first day of shooting. “WE’RE BACK!!!” reads the caption on the video. It’s my first day back on set with the most amazing TV family! I couldn’t stop myself from acting out in my trailer. I’m really looking forward to starting the new season of @netflixfamilyreunion. Keep an eye out for additional behind-the-scenes footage from our last season!”

Cameron J. Wright, who plays Mazzi McKellan, also released a video on his TikTok account about the first day of filming on February 28. The TikTok video also featured Talia Jackson (Jade McKellan) and Jordyn Raya James (Ami McKellan).

So, on February 28, production on Season 3 of Family Reunion began!

The exact end date is uncertain at this time, but we can expect filming to last at least six months.

There’s also a chance that filming will be completed in four or five months. Production is most likely taking place at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles.

Season 1 took eight months to film, but it is likely due to the fact that there were 20 episodes in the first season. We don’t expect filming for the third season to continue this long, given that there will only be 10 episodes. We’ll definitely keep you updated as we learn more about the third season’s production timeline.

Updates about the third season of Family Reunion

For obvious reasons, there is no release date for the third season. The last season, though, should be available on Netflix before the end of the year. The most likely release date is in the fall or winter of 2022. Given the current state of knowledge concerning Season 3, this is our best guess for a release date. It’s uncertain whether the third season will be split into episodes like the previous two, but I believe all 10 will be released at once.
