  • Anniversary - Embrey

    Mr. and Mrs. Bob Embrey of Kuttawa, Ky., formerly of Posey County, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children.
    The reception will be held July 17, 2-5 p.m. at the Community Life Center at Kuttawa Methodist Church. All family and friends are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts.
    They were married July 21, 1961 at the Johnson United Methodist Church in New Harmony.

  • Anniversary - Mayville

    Jim and Carolyn Mayville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, April 3 with an open house hosted by their family at Church of God Mission, West Fifth St., Mount Vernon, from 1-3 p.m.
    Family and friends are invited to attend.
    Jim and Carolyn were married April 5, 1961.

  • Anniversary - Kessler

    Malcolm “Mac” and Helen (Guth) Kessler were joined in marriage on Feb. 16, 1946 in Henderson, Ky., with attendants Ed and Valerie Strupp (sister of the bride).
    Mac and Helen are the parents of Donna (David L.) Allyn, Rick (Marcia) Kessler, and Rhonda (Ronald) Sammet, all of Mount Vernon, and Mark (Nona) Kessler of Stewartsville.
    They have nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
    A private family gathering is planned to celebrate the day.

  • Anniversary - Fleming

    Mr. and Mrs. Gene Fleming will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Jan. 21, 2011. They are celebrating the occasion with family and friends.
    The couple has three children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

  • Anniversary - Roger and Connie Thompson

    Roger and Connie Thompson will celebrate their 40th anniversary on Sunday, Jan. 23 with an open house at Point Township Church Family Life Center from 12:30-4 p.m. There will be cake and punch served following lunch.
    The couple were joined in marriage on Jan. 29, 1971.
    They are the parents of Bryan and wife Ashley; Sam and wife Anna, and Tonya and husband Robbie. Roger and Connie have eight grandchildren.
    All family and friends are invited to attend.
     

  • Anniversary - Ries

    David O. and Ruth Ries of Mount Vernon, plan to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Dec. 5 with a reception at First United Methodist Church Wesley Hall in Mount Vernon. The reception will be held from 2-4 p.m.
    David O. and the former Ruth Chaplin were married on Nov. 23, 1960 in Mount Vernon. They are the parents of David W. (Kim), Jim (Melanie), Margaret, and Charles (Mary), all of Mount Vernon. They have 11 grandchildren.
    All friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts, but instead can goods for the food pantry.

  • Anniversary - Fawcett

    Richard and Maxine (Riggs) Fawcett of Mount Vernon will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, Nov. 26. Richard and Maxine’s anniversary celebration will be at New Bethel Baptist Church from 6-8 p.m., and is being hosted by their family. Richard and Maxine were married Nov. 26, 1960 at Bible Center Church in Evansville. They are the parents of Brian K. Fawcett, and his wife Tonya, of Mount Vernon.
    Maxine is retired from working at Dr. Timothy Crowley’s office and Richard is retired from Faultless Caster Corp.
     

  • Isaac Anniversary

    Glen and Bonnie Isaac of Evansville plan to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 14 with a reception at the Farm Bureau Shelter House, 1200 W. Grant Street in Mount Vernon.
    The reception will be held from 1-3 p.m.
    Glen and the former Bonnie Small were married Nov. 15, 1960 in Evansville. They are the parents of Mark Isaac of Mount Vernon and Beth Doerflein of Evansville. They have five grandchildren.

  • Redman Anniversary

    Carl and Judy Redman of Mount Vernon plan to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 9 with a reception at the Trinity United Church of Christ, 505 Mulberry St., Mount Vernon, from 2-4 p.m.
    Carl and the former Judy Saltzman were married Oct. 15, 1960 at First Christian Church in Mount Vernon.
    They are the parents of Leah Meier of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Kevin and Jason Redman of Mount Vernon.
    They have six grandchildren. Carl retired from Posey County Co-op after 35 years.
    All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

  • Ivan and Rosemary Alsop

    Ivan and Rosemary Alsop plan to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 26 with a reception at the Ribeyre Gymnasium Annex in New Harmony from 1-3 p.m. Friends are invited. The couple requests no gifts.
    Alsop and the former Rosemary Cleveland were married Sept. 30, 1950 at Hatfield Methodist Church in Hatfield, Ind.  
    They are the parents of Pat Wilson, Jim Alsop and Melissa Peerman of New Harmony, Steve Alsop of Evansville and the late Gary Alsop. They have 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
