  • Trinity to have Sugar & Spice Bake Sale

    Sugar & Spice Bake Sale
    Trinity United Church of Christ in Mount Vernon will have its Sugar & Spice Bake Sale on Saturday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the fellowship hall, located on the corner of Fifth and Mulberry streets.
    Homemade sweets that will be featured include cinnamon rolls, kuchen, cakes, cookies (choose a variety and pay-by-the-pound), candy and pies, and an added feature this year, freezer dumplings. Cobbler will be sold by the piece or by the dish.
     

  • Community Thanksgiving set for Nov. 23

    Community Thanksgiving
    Trinity United Church of Christ and St. Matthew Catholic Church are hosting the Mount Vernon Community Thanksgiving Celebration at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23. Nancy and Dennis Noon are coordinating instrumental and vocal music for this celebration and invite vocalists to sing.

  • Black's Chapel United Methodist hosts Miracle Sunday

    Miracle Sunday
    Black’s Chapel United Methodist Church will celebrate Miracle Sunday on Nov. 14.
    The church will be accepting donations to raise money for the building of Phase I of the new church building to be located on eight acres east of Mount Vernon. Sunday service begins at 9 a.m. The church is located 3 miles west of Mount Vernon. Take Indiana 62 west, turn south on Bald Knob Road.
     

  • St. Peter's United Methodist Church to have annual bazaar

    St. Peter’s United Methodist, 2800 St. Phillips Road, will host its annual Christmas Auction on Sunday, Nov. 14, beginning at 2 p.m.  There will be lots of items for auction, including Christmas and handmade items, quilts, miscellaneous items, and baked and canned goods.
    Food and babysitting will be available. The money raised will be used for various mission projects.

  • St. Peter's United Church of Christ welcomes new pastor


    St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 10430 Highway 66, Wadesville, IN (Parker Settlement) introduced its new paster. He will be serving as the part-time Supply Pastor.

  • Zion-Lippe United Church of Christ

    Zion-Lippe United Church of Christ is hosting its second annual Fall Bazaar Saturday, Oct. 9, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    There will be quilted items, baked goods, craft items, homemade frozen meals and grandma’s attic items. Zion-Lippe United Church of Christ is located at 9000 Copperline Road, Mount Vernon. For more information, call 985-2437.

  • Mount Vernon First Baptist Church


    First Baptist Church invites you to a new group Bible Study called, “Gravity and Gladness: The Pursuit of God in Corporate Worship.” Beginning Oct. 3, at 6 p.m., this study will challenge us to strive for “substance and satisfaction” in our worship of God.   • St. John Episcopal Church

    St. John’s Episcopal Church in Mount Vernon will moving its Sunday normal service time from 9 a.m. Sunday service will now begin at 10 a.m. For more information, contact St. John’s Episcopal Church at 838-5445.

  • Rev. Martha Honaker Retirement Reception


    A reception to honor the retirement of The Rev. Martha A. Honaker will be held on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010 at the Granary in New Harmony, from 2-4 p.m. Bishop Cate Waynick from the Diocese of Indianapolis will be there to participate in the celebration. We invite all of you to join in the celebration of her ministry.
