Doja Cat, a female singer, has announced her retirement from the music industry after facing outrage for canceling a gig in Paraguay. Learn why this “ain’t for” her any longer!
Doja Cat appears to have announced her departure from the music industry. After a scheduled performance in South America that evidently enraged fans, the “Like That” singer began firing off a flurry of tweets on Thursday, March 24. Doja was supposed to perform at the Asunciónico Festival in Paraguay on the first day. Because of floods caused by the huge storm, the show had to be canceled. Supporters were reportedly outraged because Doja did not interact with fans outside her hotel while in Paraguay, in addition to being upset over the show’s cancellation. Doja claimed in a now-deleted tweet that there were no admirers outside her hotel when she left the next day.
Doja apologized in a tweet for not putting on a “good enough concert” for the crowd at Lollapalooza in Brazil. That show went place only a few days after the Paraguay show was canceled. However, one fan said it was “too late” to apologize to them. Doja has now sworn off taking photos with fans in the future, stating that it will begin after the current tour concludes.
It looks that the lack of empathy and online hostility have gotten to her. She said this in a nasty tweet: “I don’t give a f— anymore, I’m quitting, I can’t wait to f—ing vanish, and I don’t need you to believe in me any longer. Everything, including music, is dead to me, and I’m a f—ng fool for ever believing I was destined for this – this is a f—ing nightmare, unfollow me.” Her Twitter handle was likewise altered to “I quit.”
Despite reaching her limit, Doja’s representative assured TMZ that she will keep performing as planned. “She’s excited about it,” the representative stated. Doja is also set to embark on a North American tour with The Weeknd this summer.
