iPhone will not be sold in Russia, is it true?

surprised? You absolutely should!!

Nobody could have predicted that the war between Russia and Ukraine would force Apple to suspend all of its services and products in Russia. But it did happen, and it happened for a reason. Despite the fact that the Ukrainian president wrote an open letter to Apple’s CEO, no one could have foreseen this.

Apple has “paused all product sales in Russia,” according to a notice sent by the top smartphone brand. Although consumers may still access Apple’s Russian website, the company’s online store is currently unavailable in Russia.

“We are deeply concerned about Russia’s assault on Ukraine and sympathise with all of the people who are suffering as a result of the brutality,” Apple said recently. “We’re assisting relief activities, offering relief for the rising refugee crisis, and helping our regional teams in every way we can.”

Last week, Apple halted all shipments to Russia. According to Apple, some application limitations were among the efforts taken to help Ukraine and “stand with all of the people who are suffering from the carnage.” In addition to Apple, several tech firms have imposed restrictions on their services in Russia, including Google, Meta (formerly Facebook), and Netflix.

Are you curious as to why? The latest action is a reprisal for the country’s attack on Ukraine, which began late last month. Apple previously blocked Apple Pay in Russia, withdrew Russian apps like Sputnik and RT News from the App Store outside of Russia, and suspended traffic updates in Ukraine on Apple Maps in an attempt to express support for Ukraine.

While Apple has not confirmed if prohibiting the sale of iPhones and other physical products in Russia was a strategic decision, Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov issued an open letter to the business last week encouraging it to cut Russia off from its worldwide operations.

“If they shut down the App Store, I’d be extremely concerned that it will be much more difficult for users to ensure that their devices are up to date and that particular programmes are secure,” Kaye said. “It would discourage people from buying Apple goods, which are among the safest electronics available in Russia.”

According to some sources, the halt in Apple’s physical goods sales in Russia could be the result of airline and freight delays. Many countries have imposed restrictions on flights and cargo exports to Russia.

Apple relies on imports because it does not produce or assemble iPhones or other items in Russia, and its ability to sell its products in Russia is almost impossible due to the prohibition.

So that’s all there is to the news!! We hope it comes across as surprise at first, but it is a true storey that is difficult to swallow. Keep an eye out for additional updates!!
