The 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards honoured Jennifer Lopez with the Generation Award on Sunday night. First, a list of her achievements was read out by host Vanessa Hudgens, who then played clips from Lopez’s 30-year-long career in television and cinema as well as music and fashion.
Lopez, who was dressed in a Monot gown with a corset-topped bodice, accepted the award by thanking her followers.
“I appreciate your kind words. I appreciate your kind words. I care about you so much “Lopez couldn’t stop gushing. “When I watch those films, I’m reminded of the fantastic people I’ve met and worked with throughout the years. Those with whom you share a workplace are only as good as the collective sum of their parts. As a result, I’ve been really fortunate.”
“As an actor, I am not any of the ladies that I played but there is a portion that is truly true to me and each one of the characters, and since you cannot create truth unless you really lived it, I have a different type of list of thank-yous tonight.”
To all the people who had brought her happiness and all the people who had broken her heart, Lopez had a long list of thanks to give. Both true love and failure had taught her to be strong, after all.
“Those who have given me this life deserve my gratitude. As a way of expressing my gratitude to those who have brought me happiness or sorrow, as well as those who have been honest to me or those who have lied to me, “Lopez commented. As a method of thanking both true love and lying to myself, “I would like to thank both of these things.”
With a tight grip on her sobs, she said, “I want to think that teaching needs to be strong because of disappointment and failure, and that my children have taught me to love.”
The 52-year-old singer-actress praised people who questioned her for providing her with the fuel to continue her journey.
“I’d like to express my gratitude to everyone who has told me, whether directly or indirectly, that I couldn’t accomplish this. I don’t think I would have been able to accomplish this without your help, sir “It was only then that she shifted her attention to the adoring throng. In addition, “I’m certain that without your help, I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish this.”
During her speech, Lopez made a special mention of her manager Benny Medina, whom she credits with believing in her from the start, even when she didn’t.
“He’s not only my boss; he’s a friend. One person who has always supported me from the beginning, from the first time he heard a rough tape of a song I had written, has been him, he has never let me stop believing in myself “Lopez became agitated. “At your lowest and most hopeless moments, you know someone is there for you. You never want to let them down when they are there for you. And there were times when I was so low that I believe I persevered more for the sake of you than for my own benefit. I’m in love with you, honey. I appreciate your kind words. Your life is a ride or die for you.”
For as long as she is able, Jennifer Lopez vowed to continue entertaining the world with her talents.
The ability to connect with audiences is a privilege, and she swore that she would hang onto that honour for as long as she lived because of all of you. “I’m in love with you. Thank you so much for your kind words.”
As Lopez went on, he added: “Bruce and the MTV staff are also to be thanked for this Generation Award. Amazing work, all of you. Thanks for creating such an incredible forum for artists, including me!”
She couldn’t forget to thank her fiancé Ben Affleck, who was able to watch the show from his couch on Sunday night.
‘And Ben, and everybody at home: wait for me to eat dinner, I’ll be home by seven,’ Lopez said before leaving the stage.
Before the Generation Award, MTV had given the legend its 2018 Video Vanguard Award. At the time, she stated, “It has been a crazy trip, imagining my future and seeing it come to life.” Since I was a child, I’ve had a strong desire to be a professional dancer.”
Generation Award honorees include Dwayne Johnson, Chris Pratt, Will Smith, Reese Witherspoon, Robert Downey Jr. Mark Wahlberg Sandra Bullock Jamie Foxx Johnny Depp Ben Stiller Adam Sandler Mike Myers Tom Cruise Jim Carrey and the Fast & Furious franchise.

Hudgens spoke to ET’s Lauren Zima ahead of Sunday’s programme about her admiration for Lopez, who played her mother in Second Act “She’s an icon, and she just keeps going.. The only person I know who works as hard as she does is her own mother. And I appreciate her employees, but also her as a human being and what she means to the world. She’s the most wonderful person I’ve ever met.”
In addition to the Generation Award, Lopez took home a slew of other prizes on Sunday night.
On top of that, she was named Best Song for Marry Me’s “On My Way (Marry Me)” with a golden popcorn.
