Gamers will once again be able to step into the shoes of their favourite characters from the Star Wars universe, revitalising the formula that players have come to expect from a LEGO game.
The first instalment in the series was released in 2005, while the most recent instalment, The Force Awakens, was released in 2016. As a result, the game’s release, which includes LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, can’t arrive fast enough.
Here’s all we know so far about LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
What is the release date for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga?
The release date for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been set for Tuesday, April 5th, 2022, according to the developers at Traveller’s Tales. The game has already been postponed, but we have a good feeling about this date. With the announcement of the release date came the release of a gameplay overview trailer, which you can see below:
This brick-based retelling of the three main Star Wars trilogies, however, isn’t all good news. According to a report from Polygon, the development of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been a difficult period for Traveller’s Tales, with the game’s production “leading to considerable crunch at TT Games.” Crunch is an industrial phrase that generally translates to gruelling overtime in layman’s terms.
Following these charges, it will be fascinating to observe how the rest of the game’s advertising activities unfold. While we wait for more details, we’ve included our game guide below.
What movies are included in the Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga?
The Lego games have been popular for a long time, and this one seems to be a standout. This new game has nine episodes, one from each of the Skywalker films that have been produced.
The phrase ‘Skywalker Saga’ refers to the three main film trilogies, so expect to play Lego versions of The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker in this game.
And if you don’t feel like replaying Attack of the Clones, the good news is that you may play the trilogies in whatever order you want, so you can skip the prequels entirely and jump right into the original trilogy or sequels.
Characters from other Star Wars universes, such as the casts of Solo: A Star Wars Story and The Mandalorian, will be added via DLC packs. Those spinoff stories, however, will not be playable in the game, as far as we know.
What platforms and consoles will Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga be available on?
At launch, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Unless you’re devoted to mobile devices or streaming services, you should be able to find a place to play it. Is it possible to order Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga in advance? Yes, both the regular and deluxe editions of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga are available for pre-order right now.
The Skywalker Saga is a LEGO Star Wars game. Map of the Galaxy
The Galaxy Map, as previously noted, is another notable gameplay feature to be presented. This was presented during the Gamescom 2021 Opening Night event, giving fans a first peek at the map, which will allow us to travel between planets.
The game allows players to completely explore classic places from the franchise, like Ahch-To, the harsh desert of Geonosis, the dark marshes of Dagobah, and the snowfields of Starkiller Base. As you move through the Episodes, you’ll most likely have to uncover new famous planets.
