Our Flag Means Death Season 2: Release Date, Cast, Plot and Much More!

OUR FLAG MEANS DEATH is the finest surprise hit of 2022. Because of its quick humour, over-the-top antics, and, of course, the lovely love story between its two main characters, the HBO Max series, written by David Jenkins and starring Rhys Darby and Taika Waititi, has become a fan favourite. After seeing all ten episodes of Season 1, viewers are clamouring for more.

Everything you need to know about the show’s future, from if it will be renewed to what might happen to Stede Bonnet, is right here.

When Will Season 2 Of Our Flag Means Death Be Available On HBO Max?

Our Flag Means Death does not have a premiere date because it has not been renewed for a second season. If Season 2 gets given the green light, we’ll have to wait until writing and production begin before finding out when it will be released.

However, we should keep in mind the production schedule for Season 1. In September 2020, HBO Max gave the project a series order, and casting began in early 2021. It finally started filming in June 2021 and finished near the end of September 2021. On March 3, 2022, Our Flag Means Death made its premiere, less than five months later. Season 2 might launch in mid-2023 if the streaming company renews the series shortly.

What Happens If Season 2 of Our Flag Means Death Is Cancelled?

Fans are becoming increasingly worried as days morph into weeks without news. After a fan asked David Jenkins on Twitter if there was an emergency plan, Jenkins stated he had contingencies in place to give them the conclusion they deserved.

Jenkins responded (in an apparently deleted tweet that TV Insider quotes): “First step would be to check if another streamer would appreciate a hit programme that’s become a cultural phenomenon.” “Those are said to be desirable.”

HBO Max, on the other hand, continues to tweet stills from the show. Jenkins has continued to share some of the show’s overwhelming praise on Twitter.

Cast speculation for the second season of Our Flag Means Death

There are obvious parts of the casting puzzle that would need to fall into place if a second season of Our Flag Means Death were to be created. The return of Rhys Darby as Stede Bonnet, the “Gentleman Pirate,” and Taika Waititi as “Ed” Teach/Blackbeard/Edward “Ed” Teach.

The following are the other likely returns:

Nathaniel Button is played by Ewen Bremner.
Samson Kayo as Oluwande Boodhari Con O’Neill as Israel “Izzy” Hands, who is assisting Blackbeard Joel Fry as Frenchie, who Blackbeard has kidnapped
Rory Kinnear as Captain Nigel Badminton (but not his dead brother) Vico Ortiz as Jim Jimenez, who Blackbeard has kidnapped

Season 2 of Our Flag Means Death has a potential plot

People don’t simply want more of Stede and Blackbeard necking on the water, which is why season 2 of Our Flag Means Death is in high demand. The series concluded on a cliffhanger, implying that there will be a second season.

After Chauncey raged at Stede and blamed him for everyone else’s problems, including the now de-bearded Blackbeard’s, Stede bolted, as though piracy was over for him. Unfortunately, life back at home was no better. Mary has been enjoying her life without Stede and is unconcerned about her widowhood. She even attempts (but fails) to murder him while he is sleeping. Stede understands that Blackbeard is his true love when the two decide to separate up.

Sadly, by the time Stede returned to his crew? After some squabbles, Blackbeard decided that his time as the gentler “Ed” was too much for his crew, and he tossed Lucius overboard. And, like an enraged lover, he asked that Stede’s belongings be dumped into the sea. Izzy’s pinky toe was even chopped off and forced to be eaten by him. Yikes!
