Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), was engaged in an automobile collision before being detained for driving under the influence of alcohol on Saturday night, according to authorities.
Pelosi, 82, was driving into a crossroads near Yountville, California, when his 2021 Porsche was struck by a 2014 Jeep, according to a statement released by the California Highway Patrol early Monday morning.
According to a public booking report on the Napa County government’s website, the financier was arrested shortly before midnight and is being held on a $5,000 bond. According to booking records, he was freed soon before 7:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.
There were no injuries recorded. The second driver was not taken into custody.

According to the booking record, Pelosi might face minor charges such as driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol value of 0.08 or higher.
In a statement to HuffPost on Sunday, her deputy chief of staff Drew Hammill stated, “The Speaker will not be commenting on this private incident that occurred when she was on the East Coast.”
On Sunday, Nancy Pelosi was in Rhode Island for a commencement speech at Brown University. Since 1963, the couple has been married.
