This year’s Sarajevo Film Festival will present Jesse Eisenberg with an Honorary Heart of Sarajevo Award. On August 15, he will receive the honour prior to a special showing of Eisenberg’s debut film, When You Finish Saving the World.
The film, which had its Sundance premiere this week and was shown at Cannes Critics Week in May, stars Julianne Moore as a woman who is committed to helping those who are struggling but finds it difficult to connect with her son Ziggy (Finn Wolfhard), a budding internet celebrity who is unaware of the problems facing the world.
The Social Network, Batman v. Superman, Justice League, and Zombieland are just a few of the many films Eisenberg has worked on.

He will next be featured in the FX limited series Fleishman Is In Trouble, which is based on the same-titled best-selling novel by Taffy Brodesser-Akner.
The festival also revealed last week that Mads Mikkelsen would receive an Honorary Heart of Sarajevo Award in recognition of his contributions to the field of cinema. In anticipation of a special showing of his movie The Hunt, the Danish actor will receive his honour on August 14. Originally given this honour in 2020, Mikkelsen was unable to attend in person due to the pandemic.
August 12–19 is the Sarajevo Film Festival period.
