Users reported widespread disruptions on Thursday at about 5 AM PT, and Twitter service was shut down as a result.
Twitter’s API status page stated, “We are looking into this issue.”
The 40-minute outage seems to impact a number of the social media companies’ functions.
Requests for comment from a corporate spokeswoman were not immediately fulfilled.
