Werewolf by Night, a Halloween special long rumoured to be in the works at Marvel Studios, has finally received official confirmation and a brand new teaser.
The show will be based on the exploits of the comic book character of the same name, who features prominently in tales with a horror theme.
The special has been described as “fun terrifying” by Marvel CEO Kevin Feige, and “has the proper level of scares” by the film’s director Michael Giacchino.
The first trailer suggests that it will be one of the most artistically distinct MCU productions to date, and we won’t have to wait much longer to see it.

Marvel Studios Has Announced the Release Date for “Werewolf By Night”
Marvel Studios is producing, and Disney Platform Distribution is the original distributor. The United States of America is the country of origin, and English is the language of origin. Atlanta, Georgia will serve as the set for this future production.
Main roles played by Gael Garca Bernal, Laura Donnelly, and Harriet Sansom Harris.
It is common knowledge that Werewolf By Night was the first television special in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel will be producing this future television event.
The Cast of Werewolf by Night
Like his role as Jack Russell in Coco, Gael Garca Bernal takes the stage as the movie’s main antagonist, Werewolf by Night. The lycanthrope’s rampage also features Elsa Bloodstone, played by Laura Donnelly.
Verusa is played by Harriet Sansom Harris (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It) and Linda is played by Eugenie Bondurant (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It), Jovan is played by Kirk R. Thatcher (Gremlins 2: The New Batch), and Billy Swan is played by Al Hamacher (True Memoirs of an International Assassin).
Since Man-Thing does not speak and we will not be seeing him in human form, no actor has been cast as the figure as of yet. However, the Halloween special will certainly feature some creepy surprises.
Plot of “Werewolf by Night”
“On a dark and dismal night, a hidden cabal of monster hunters emerge from the shadows and convene at the scary Bloodstone Temple following the murder of their leader,” reads the official synopsis for Werewolf by Night.
A weird and gruesome monument to the life of the leader thrusts the participants into a hunt for a powerful relic, a competition that will ultimately put them face to face with a frightening creature.
There is currently no information on how this will tie to the larger MCU universe. It should be noted, however, that Moon Knight first appeared in the pages of the comic book Werewolf by Night before he was given his own series. Is there any chance Oscar Isaac will show up? It looks like we’ll have to hold our breath for the time being…
To whose credit is the novel Werewolf by Night?
It has already been announced that Kevin Feige would serve as executive producer and that Michael Giacchino will make his directorial debut. Although Giacchino was clearly inspired by classic monster flicks, he also listed childhood-scarring classics like Poltergeist (1982) as influences and vowed that the special will really ratchet up the scares for anyone seeking for something a bit more grit.

Werewolf By Night Trailer
On September 11th, 2022, the teaser trailer for Werewolf By Night was published. At the beginning of the minute and twenty-six seconds long trailer, a voiceover says, “This Halloween you can’t escape the shock, the dread of.”
After Verusa declares, “one of you is a monster,” the video cuts to a few glimpses of the various characters seated in the special. Trying to fool us by posing as one of us. I’m dying to know what sort of darkness you represent. The video then cut to a scene in which the werewolf is confined in a cage and subjected to abuse at the hands of his fellow werewolves, before cutting to scenes of him successfully repelling his attackers.
