According to Ricky Ponting, he visited the hospital due to brief, severe chest symptoms. He was granted the all-clear to return to Optus Stadium to commentate after 18 hours. After causing cricket fans to panic late on Friday, Ponting’s return to Perth’s major stadium on Saturday morning was a relief.
Prior to being immediately transported to the hospital, Ponting discussed his worries with a colleague and former teammate Justin Langer after feeling uneasy throughout his stint and dizzy following it. Ponting said on Seven, “I was sitting in the comms box halfway through the stint and I felt a couple of short, stabbing aches in my chest.”
I probably didn’t want to say too much over the air, so I attempted to make it last longer and get rid of it.

A few of those things have happened to me. I stood up once the shift was finished and attempted to walk to the back of the commentary box, but I felt faint and disoriented, so I had to sit down on a bench.
I mentioned that I had been experiencing chest problems to JL, who was making a remark alongside me, on the way out.
Chris Jones, the executive producer, heard me and acted quickly. He managed to get me out of there after ten or fifteen minutes.
Ponting declared that he will return “all sparkling and new” on Saturday after having a “relaxing” afternoon and a restful night at the hospital.
However, the 47-year-old Test legend claimed he was put on high alert following a disastrous year for Australian cricket, which saw Ryan Campbell thrown into an induced coma and Shane Warne and Rod Marsh die of unexpected heart attacks.
The crucial factor, according to Ponting, is that I agreed to tell JL about it, and your friend then protected you. It was a wonderful lesson for me to learn yesterday that folks my age don’t like to talk about their health all that much.

especially in light of what has happened to some of our closest neighbours over the past 12 to 18 months. Pat Cummins, the current Test captain, had already offered Ponting his best regards due to his circumstance. Langer also discussed the significance of sounding the alarm.
“You know something is amiss if Ricky Ponting comes to me and tells me something is wrong,” Langer remarked. “The fact that Rod Marsh, Shane Warne, and Ryan Campbell have made it extremely public after a year is a tremendous lesson for everyone.
It’s wonderful to acknowledge when someone discloses they are experiencing something, and it’s encouraging to see the small guy reach out rather than acting like a tough guy or an iceman.
