It seems like Netflix always does a startlingly good job of making the actors in dramatised true crime seem exactly like the people they are supposed to portray, and the same is true with the newest series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

In an interview with Insider, Rita referred to Netflix’s decision to produce a new Dahmer series as “money-hungry.” She insisted that she hadn’t given the actor permission to portray her breakdown and that she hadn’t known until she watched the video clip online. In the show, DaShawn Barnes plays Rita.

Neighbor Glenda Cleveland, played by Niecy Nash in Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, is based on two real-life individuals.
