‘Will & Grace’ Actor Leslie Jordan Dies In Single-Car Accident At 67

Actor Leslie Jordan, well known for her role as the acidic Beverley Leslie on Will & Grace and archenemy of Megan Mullally’s Karen Walker, was killed in a vehicle crash in Hollywood today. He was 67.

The Los Angeles Police Department reports that at approximately 9:45 a.m. PT, a driver, possibly experiencing a medical emergency, crashed their vehicle into a wall at the junction of Cahuenga Boulevard and Romaine Street.

According to Deadline’s sources at the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-office Coroner’s Death was declared at the scene for Jordan, and an autopsy is currently awaiting.

“The love and light that Leslie shared will never go out,” Jordan writes on Instagram.

Jordan has also guest-starred on shows like American Horror Story, Hearts Afire, Murphy Brown, Ugly Betty, and Boston Public in addition to Will & Grace. Movies like “The Help” and “Ski Patrol” are among their credits. In addition to his theatrical appearance in the comedy Sordid Lives, he also played the character of “Brother Boy” in the 2000 film adaptation.

Jordan’s own Instagram photos, in which he portrayed himself, became viral when he chronicled his efforts to amuse himself in the midst of the pandemic. Jordan’s twirling skills were on full display in one of his most popular videos.

Originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, Jordan would later write on his website that he moved to Los Angeles in 1982 “with $1500 sewed into his clothing by his steel magnolia Mother.”

Four years after moving to Los Angeles, Jordan had already had a successful television career, with guest-starring roles on shows like The Fall Guy, Night Court, Murphy Brown, and Newhart. In 1990, he made appearances in both the film Ski Patrol and the long-running, much-loved TV series Pee-Playhouse. wee’s

Roles on American Dreamer, Perfect Strangers, The New WKRP in Cincinnati, Reasonable Doubts, Bodies of Evidence, Hearts Afire, Coach, The Pretender, Ellen, Dharma & Greg, and Caroline in the City kept him busy throughout the ’90s.

His signature part, however, was established by his recurrent appearances on Will & Grace. Starting in 2001, Jordan played the acerbic Beverley Leslie, the only regular on Will & Grace who could go insult for insult with Mullally’s Karen. Well, well, well, Karen Walker,” Jordan famously said. I got the impression that they were drinking gin and drowning their sorrows.

Jordan originally performed the part from the pilot episode in 2002 to the series finale in 2006, and then again in the 2017 revival. Beverley Leslie, unlike the actor who played him, steadfastly denied his homosexuality despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. “Me, a homophobe?” In the past, Beverley expressed her shock by saying. The very thought makes me giggle hysterically like a man. Jordan’s performance on Will & Grace earned him the 2006 Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series.

In addition to his work on Will & Grace, Jordan is a familiar face to fans of American Horror Story, having played a variety of roles in the anthology series’ episodes from 2013 through 2019.

In addition to his role as Sid in The Cool Kids (2018–2020), he will also play Phil on the Mayim Bialik and Swoosie Kurtz sitcom Call Me Kat (2020–2021).

Hysterical Blindness and Other Southern Tragedies That Have Plagued My Life Thus Far, an autobiographical stage piece with music and lyrics by Joe Patrick Ward, which Jordan performed in Off Broadway in 1994, is an example. His second autobiographical one-man show, My Trip Down the Pink Carpet, premiered Off Broadway in 2010 with him in the main role.

Jordan’s attorney Eric Feig of Eric Feig Entertainment & Media Law released a statement saying, “Today one of Hollywood’s brightest lights went out. Leslie Jordan was one of the most gifted actors, singers, and performers we had the pleasure of knowing and working with, and we are devastated by his premature death. Leslie’s gifts extended much beyond his obvious abilities; his ability to make friends easily and quickly, his genuine humility, generosity, and sweetness, and the joy he brought to people of all ages will be terribly missed. Leslie posted a video of himself singing the hymn “When the Roll is Called Up Yonder” on Instagram yesterday. Leslie was taken from us today far too soon, and the world is a less bright place because of it.

According to a statement posted on Jordan’s Instagram, “In the coming days we will be giving a preview of a project Leslie was incredibly proud of and was looking forward to sharing with the world.”

Actor Dylan McDermott responded, saying, “He was the funniest, kindest guy on the planet, and a real friend.”
