The cast of Woke Season 2

Black cartoonist Keef Knight has found mainstream success after creating Toast & Butter. A run-in with a vengeful cop forced him to reassess his usual aversion to contentious subjects.

The cartoonist was disturbed by the experience and realised that he could interact with inanimate objects and was more aware of racism and microaggressions.

It’s a challenge for Keef, a “woke” Black man, to manage both his relationships and a promising career. In addition to the main character and cartoonist, Keef, Lamorne Morris portrays Gunther, a roommate and friend; Rose McIver portrays Keef’s girlfriend Adrienne; and Saturday Night Live’s Sasheer Zamata portrays a reporter who called out the cartoonist.
