Fox News commentator Jesse Watters incredulously pushed single women to get married and “settle down” so they quit supporting Democrats on live television on Thursday.
Watters lamented that Democrats had “taken” single women and voters under the age of 40 after the GOP’s poor midterm results.
“We require these women to wed. It’s time to start dating and getting married. He urged the men, “Go put a ring on it.

While Watters was imparting his knowledge, a Fox chyron at the bottom of the screen proclaimed: “Young, single women overwhelmingly vote Democratic.”
According to Fox statistics, only 42% of married women voted Democratic (with 56% voting Republican), compared to 68% of unmarried women who did (and 31% who did not).
Many additional surveys throughout the years have shown that, on average, most women tend to vote Democratic.
Additionally, women vote in higher proportions than men. According to CNN’s midterm election exit surveys, women made up 52% of voters while males made up just 48%. That indicates that out of an estimated 116 million ballots, more than 60 million would have been cast by women. These women voted Democratic, 53% of them, according to exit polls.
With restrictions on abortion and potentially soon even the freedom to receive contraception, the situation is more grave now.
In its post-mortem analysis of the midterm elections, the Brookings Institute observed that it wasn’t only “the economy, dumb” but also abortion. According to the survey, after the Supreme Court ruling tossing out Roe v. Wade, female voter registration soared in numerous states.

Regarding Watters’ own marriage, he recounted a spooky tale on Fox earlier this year about how he purposefully let air out of the tyres of the car belonging to his on-screen love interest, producer Emma DeGiovine, so he could give her a ride. She entered immediately. He boasted, “It worked like a charm.”
At the time, Watters was wed to his first wife, Noelle Inguagiato, who requested a divorce due to DeGiovine. Later on, Watters wed DeGiovine.
