The WWE Women‘s Tag Team Champions are no longer Sasha Banks and Naomi. After storming out on a live filming of Monday Night Raw earlier this week, veteran announcer Michael Cole confirmed on Friday Night SmackDown that the pair has been suspended indefinitely.
During Friday’s programme, Cole announced, “We will hold a future tournament to crown the next WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.”
Sasha had her issue with the outcome of a scheduled main event, which would have pitted her against Asuka, Becky Lynch, Doudrop, and Nikki A.S.H. in a Six Pack Challenge to determine who would meet Bianca Belair at “Hell in a Cell.” Sasha reportedly met with WWE CEO Vince McMahon to explain her worries, but McMahon is believed to have refused to alter his team’s plans. That’s when she and Naomi fled the building.
Becky Lynch and Adam Pearce shot pieces on the fly to promote the new main event, Lynch vs. Asuka.
“With their suitcases in hand, placed their tag team title belts on his desk, and walked out,” WWE said of Naomi and Sasha’s meeting with WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis.

Sasha and Naomi felt they “weren’t respected enough as tag team champions” and “weren’t comfortable in the ring with two of their opponents,” according to WWE’s official statement. “Monday Night Raw is a scripted live TV show, whose characters are expected to perform the requirements of their contract,” it added.
Sasha and Naomi have yet to make their own statements.
