You Season 4 Release Date: Everything we know so far about the Netflix series

You Season 4 Release Date

Although the third season of You didn’t premiere until October 2021, Netflix had already ordered a fourth season of the stalker show.

It’s safe to assume that Joe Goldberg’s legal woes are far from over. Best part? He’s going global with this one.

Showrunner Greg Berlanti and executive producer Sera Gamble both became instantly obsessed with Joe Goldberg and his warped universe after reading Caroline Kepnes’ novel, which led to the show’s renewal.

“It’s been exciting to see Penn Badgley, who plays Joe, give the character his own unique brand of creepiness and allure. We are incredibly humbled by the massive amount of support You have received from Netflix, and by the fact that people all across the world have enjoyed seeing Joe get everything wrong for three seasons straight. The entire cast and crew of You can’t wait to delve into the murkier side of love in season four.”

What, then, is in store for our serial killer bookkeeper? Take a look at this for complete details.

When Netflix might drop Season 4 of You is unknown.

You Season 4

Season 4’s initial four episodes were completed in June, but the show didn’t start filming until March 22, 2022, in London.

Netflix’s production team shared an old clapperboard they found on the shoot. The table was covered in blood because, well, it’s Joe we’re talking about.

Knowing that he disappeared at the end of Season 3 suggests that they may be in Paris for filming.

If history is any indication, we might expect the next episode to drop by the year 2022’s close.

Whatever the case may be, rest assured that you will be kept apprised.

Listen to Badgley on his podcast, Podcrushed, if you can’t stand to wait.

He tries, with the support of hosts Nava Kavelin and Sophie Ansari, to dive into the heartbreak, anxiety, and self-discovery that are defining features of adolescence.

While speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Badgley stated, “It’s not that it’s cathartic.”

The show’s creators, three hosts and producer-engineer David Ansari (who also happens to be married to one of the hosts) are fixated on how terrible the ’90s were.

He said, “But also why, and what are the conditions you may create that would make that less painful and more potent, since at that age you are actually thinking about the world for the first time.”

Those Who Will Play You in Season 4

After Joe abruptly abandoned his previous life in Madre Linda, a large number of new characters have been added to the cast for Season 4. Obviously, Badgley will be back as Joe Goldberg, and Tati Gabrielle has stated she’ll be reprising her role as Marienne Bellamy.

Charlotte Ritchie (Ghosts) joins the cast as Kate, Joe’s new obsession despite her instant distaste for him. It’s possible that she, too, is aware of his sinister past. Joe’s rival and fellow expat, Adam, is played by Lukas Gage (Euphoria, The White Lotus), who is rumoured to be a gambler, a party animal, and Joe’s archenemy. Cast additions include Tilly Keeper (Eastenders) as Charlotte’s best friend Lady Phoebe, Amy Leigh Hickman as literary student Nadia, and Ed Speleers (Outlander) as Rhys, an eccentric author and politician.

Some of the other new cast members are: Niccy Lin, Aidan Cheng, Stephen Hagan, Ben Wiggins, Eve Austin, Ozioma Whenu, Dario Coates, Sean Pertwee, Brad Alexander, Alison Pargeter, and Adam James.

When will we see more of You?

When will we see more of You?

Season 3 of You culminated with a dramatic showdown between Joe and Love, who had been at one other’s throats all season, with Joe ultimately deciding to travel across the globe in search of his newest passion, Marianne.

That’s the plot of Season 4, by the way

The third season finale of You was, to put it mildly, emotional. It’s a bit much, even by Joe’s standards, that he killed his wife Love (Victoria Pedretti), left their kid with another family, faked his own death, baked his own toe into a pie to blame Love for his own death, and then burned down their suburban California home.

Joe, now going by Nick, had recently landed in Paris, where he hoped to meet Marienne, a native of that city. Season 4 of You is based in London and will only temporarily move to Paris. While we don’t know much about the season’s plot as of yet, we do know that Joe has more than enough demons from his past to keep him on the edge of his seat.

In addition, we know that filming has taken place on location at Royal Holloway, University of London, suggesting that the season will take place, at least in part, on campus. Video filmed by students at Royal Holloway shows Joe (or Nick) dressed like a professor; perhaps he has found a new professional path in the United Kingdom.

Not only will the setting be unique this time around, but so will a lot else. According to an interview Badgley gave to Entertainment Tonight (opens in new tab): “The format is changing, but the tone is staying the same. There’s a new structure we’re employing, “His stress. “It’s almost as if we’re making a small genre change. And I think it does the job.”

While we patiently await the arrival of You Season 4, we recommend the following shows to fill the void in your Netflix queue.

The Season 4 Promo for You

A full-length trailer for You season 4 is likely still some way off, given that the trailer for season 3 was released almost a month before the new episodes premiered on Netflix. Your best bet is to keep a look out around January 2023, if your estimate of a February release date holds true.
